Restricted party screening
Restricted Party Screening for Every Party on a Shipment
Restricted party screening is the check of the names of the parties in a trade, such as the shipper, the consignee and the notify party, against government lists of restricted parties. In the US, these export lists are kept by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the Department of State and OFAC, and the Consolidated Screening List (CSL) combines them. Here you upload one file with the parties of your shipments and get one report, with every name checked against the CSL, the OFAC SDN List and the lists of the UK, the EU, the UN, Switzerland, France, Poland, Canada and Australia.
Pay once per batch, from €19. No subscription, no monthly fee.
BIS lists in the CSL
- Entity List: it identifies persons or addresses of persons reasonably believed to be involved, or to pose a significant risk of being or becoming involved, in activities contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States (15 CFR 744.16).
- Unverified List: it names foreign persons subject to end-user controls (15 CFR 744.15).
- Denied Persons List: it names parties that have been denied export privileges under the Export Administration Regulations, parts 764 and 766.
The CSL also holds the Military End User List of BIS, the State Department's Nonproliferation Sanctions and AECA Debarred List, and the OFAC lists.
One file for all the parties of a shipment
Many shipment files have one row per shipment, with the shipper, the consignee and the notify party in separate columns. You can screen up to 5 parties per row in one run. The report names the party of each possible match, for example the consignee, so you see which name on the shipment matched.
What you get
- one report as PDF, CSV and JSON
- each possible match with its list and the date of the list data
- your file and the report deleted 24 hours after upload

Frequently asked questions
Can I screen the shipper, the consignee and the notify party in one file?
Yes. Put each party in its own name column, one row per shipment. Up to 5 parties per row can be screened in the same run, and the report names the party of each possible match.
Is the Entity List included?
Yes. The Entity List, the Unverified List, the Denied Persons List and the Military End User List are in the US Consolidated Screening List, which this check screens.
Is restricted party screening free here?
You can check up to 10 names in any 24 hours for free with the free check. A batch check of a file costs $19 (€19, £16) for up to 100 rows, $49 (€49, £42) for up to 500 rows and $99 (€99, £85) for up to 2,000 rows, paid once.
How current is the list data?
We load the lists every day. The report shows the date of the list data it used for each list.
Does a match mean that the party is restricted?
Not on its own. A match means that a name in your file is similar to a name on a list. Review each possible match with the other data you have, such as the date of birth and the country. The tool does not decide for you.
