Denied party screening
Denied Party Screening Against the Consolidated Screening List
The official CSL page describes the Consolidated Screening List (CSL) as a list of parties for which the United States Government maintains restrictions on certain exports, reexports or transfers of items. It combines export screening lists of the Departments of Commerce, State and the Treasury.
Denied party screening is the check of the names of customers, consignees and other parties against these lists. Here you upload your whole list as a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file and get one report, with every name checked against the CSL and 9 more official lists.
Pay once per batch, from €19. No subscription, no monthly fee.
The source lists of the CSL
On 19 October 2026 the official CSL page named these source lists. The government can add or remove lists.
- Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (4): Denied Persons List, Unverified List, Entity List, Military End User List
- Department of State (2): Nonproliferation Sanctions, AECA Debarred List
- Department of the Treasury, OFAC (7): Specially Designated Nationals List, Foreign Sanctions Evaders List, Sectoral Sanctions Identifications List, Correspondent Account or Payable-Through Account Sanctions List, Non-SDN Menu-Based Sanctions List, Non-SDN Chinese Military-Industrial Complex Companies List, Palestinian Legislative Council List
What the official CSL tools offer
The official CSL page offers a search tool, downloadable data files and an API with fuzzy name search.
The official CSL page says that when a party on the list appears to match a party in your export transaction, more due diligence is needed before you continue. It says that the user "must check the official publication of restricted parties in the Federal Register" and "should also check the official lists of restricted parties maintained on the websites of the Departments of Commerce, State, and the Treasury."
A whole file in one run
Upload a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file with up to 2,000 rows. Every name is checked against the CSL, the OFAC SDN List and the lists of the UK, the EU, the UN, Switzerland, France, Poland, Canada and Australia. If a row holds several parties, such as a shipper, a consignee and a notify party, up to 5 parties per row can be screened in the same run.
You get one report as PDF, CSV and JSON, with each possible match, its list and the date of the list data. Your file and the report are deleted 24 hours after upload.
Name matching uses deterministic fuzzy matching (Jaro-Winkler and token-set). The same input and the same list version give the same result, with no AI or LLM in the matching path. Matching normally runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH in Helsinki, Finland. If that server is not available or returns an error, or if we switch it off, matching runs in Cloudflare's network, which can be outside the EU. Stored data uses Cloudflare's Eastern Europe location hint (EEUR), a placement preference, not a legal restriction. Your customer data is not used to train any AI model.

Denied party screening: questions
How many lists are in the Consolidated Screening List?
13 on 19 October 2026: 4 from the Department of Commerce (BIS), 2 from the Department of State and 7 from the Department of the Treasury (OFAC). The number can change.
Is the Entity List in the CSL?
Yes. The Entity List, the Unverified List, the Denied Persons List and the Military End User List of the Bureau of Industry and Security are all in the CSL.
Is denied party screening free here?
You can check up to 10 names in any 24 hours for free with the free check. A batch check of a file costs $19 (€19, £16) for up to 100 rows, $49 (€49, £42) for up to 500 rows and $99 (€99, £85) for up to 2,000 rows, paid once.
How current is the list data?
We load the lists every day. The report shows the date of the list data it used for each list.
Does a match mean that the party is denied?
Not on its own. A match means that a name in your file is similar to a name on a list. Review each possible match with the other data you have, such as the date of birth and the country. The tool does not decide for you.
